    Wiper Arms

I recently ordered a set of repro wiper arms for my 1970 from CC, cause the passenger side did not have the metal hose. Installed the passenger side only and the wiper door would not close. Tried all the adjustments, found that the arm was bent differently from the replacement not allowing hitting the door so it would not close properly. Does anyone know who sells correct replacement? Spoke to Keen they sell them to CC.

I'm all ears on this one....

There were a set at Nationals in the silent auction, dont know If Lyle Chamberlin eventually won them but he was high bidder when I had to leave. Maybe he'll chime in

Those wiper arms I was bidding on at the national were the replacement parts made by Keen and sold by others. I was bidding on them because I have restored and sold original 69-73 wiper arms for years and I wanted an example of the repo part to show NCRS members and customers at Carlisle how they are different from the original arm. I had no idea they had a problem when installed. I was outbid so I did not get them.

I installed a set and had no problems? Wonder what gives?

As far as I know Keen's reproduction arms are the only ones out there. Do you have the arms completely seated on the shafts and the correct side arm on the right side? Thanks to Tom we have something available!

One more question for you Les, are you sure you have the right wiper blades? Meaning they might be to "thick"?

          Regards,

          Kevin

The problem with wiper arms hitting the door is most often caused by using modern blade holders that are too high. The fix is finding original blade holders which I have a hard time finding. I have plenty of original restored arms and you can take a look at Calisle space K134-K136 if you are going next week.

I"ll stop off a your booth at Carlisle Next week. The ones on the car now the drivers side is original and the passenger side is a Trico replacement with the rubber tubes. When you compare the bent or angle of the bend it does not match the passenger side arm. The arms with the blades on the car now at rest sit parallel to each other against the stop. The Repo Passenger side sits at a different angle not parallel to the drivers side no matter what adjustment you try.The passenger blade sits lower on the drivers side and higher on the other side hitting the door.
