I have a 66 Powerglide that appears to to leaking from the gear selector shaft that goes through the left side of the case. Can that seal (O-rings?) be changed with the trans in the car? Is it a DIY job by dropping the pan or does it have to go to a trans shop? I won't be leaving the car overnight anywhere at any shop.
Also, what is the modern replacement for Type A trans fluid?
