(The three pace cars to pace the race were two automatics and one manual 6 speed that Jim Perkins drove to lead the field.)
Somewhere home I have the Bowling Green Gazette (plant newsletter) showing the build. Chevrolet and Indy officals announced the pace car on November 17,1994
The rest of the 1995 pace cars were then built prior to the race in March and April 1995. Mr Siegal can check the inside of driver door vin label for the month built or have him give us the number out of the 527 built. We don't need the sticker, you already supplied the vin. It's the built date that matters and when it was purchased Corvette from Dealer. The service records I believe are too old now. Maybe not, but that be a good start too. Thanks. Save the Wave.

George, this is what I do know. The car is sequence #431 out of 527. I checked the vin against the track list and it's not a track car. He said he bought the car from the dealer in August of 1995.

I would also note that the odometer showed 23 miles when Mr. Siegal bought the car.

Floyd, that's a good point, but do any new cars come with zero miles on them? What I have normally seen is ten to twenty miles.

          Ed,

I'm in agreement. I find it unlikely that the oil filter was changed on a car with 23 miles showing. Not impossible, but it seems unlikely.

            Re: 1996 Oil Filter

Folks, I am attaching a photo of an original oil filter from a 1995. I was given this information from the original owner who changed his own oil for the first time and kept the oil filter.

As you can see it bears the same inscriptions as Mr. Siegal' oil filter.

The OE could stand for Original Equipment and the 35041 could be a Julian Date Code of 350-December 16th, 4-1994 and 1-First Shift.

The change over from the Black PF 51 to the Blue PF 52 for the 1995 model year appears to have happened after George's Black PF off his November 1994 Build. The attached photo of the Blue PF 52 is off a December 1994 Build Corvette.

Ed, what is the build date on the Pace Car?

With a sequence number of 431 out of 527, I would guess that it was a later 1995 model and should have the Blue PF 52.

            Once again, only my opinion.

Ed, does he have the original air filter?
