    In the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", after the joyride in the Ferrari, they jacked up the rear wheels and ran the car in reverse. After a while they realized it didn't turn back any miles. You remember that scene after that right?

    I think it would have been easier to disconnect the speedometer cable!

                Louis, the older cars did roll the odometer back in reverse. Don't ask me how I know I had a Cosworth Vega that I drove to the end of my street quite ofter and the mileage never got over the 16.9 miles it had on it when I bought it. I would back it down the street. Never added .1 of a mile

                        Thanks for setting me straight. I never imagined what Ferris and friends were attempting in the movie was based on fact!

                            Ya reckon it died the same death as Howard K.....'s motor home engine did? Then again, he is not tall enough to reach over the fender to check the oil.

                                Richard, Is it true that your car is the real thing from the movie? I heard rumors that someone in this society owned that car. The movie is a classic and I own a copy of it.
