In the process of putting my 69 back together I've discovered that the wiper door is not opening properly. I noticed that the arm that the actuator moved back and forth has a parallel fitting spring on it. If the actuator pushes the lever forward to open the wiper door, shouldn't the spring retract the door once the wiper switch has been turned off?

Re: C3 wiper door
Wiper door closing operation is as follows:
(1) Wiper motor goes into 'park' position.
(2) RH wiper arm is the last to aqssume its parked position.
(3) When it does, it hits/presses against the wiper door vac switch in the cowl (some adjustment here as the switch mounting position can move via enlongated bolt holes).
(4) When the vacuum park switch is activated, vac reverses direction on the wiper door vacuum actuator causing it to pulll the door closed.
This extra 'logic' is there to insure the wiper arms have stopped and assumed their park position prior to the door closing and potentially 'pinching' the wiper arms while still in motion.- Top

Re: C3 wiper door
Thanks Jack. I also printed out something you had written on one of the previous threads regarding this issue and it helped a lot. It all seems to be working properly. Looks like my next challenge is to get the wiper door centered so it doesn't hit the fender but I'll tackle that tomorrow during the daylight. jim- Top
