EPILOG
In 1977 at age 74, Bing Crosby died of a heart attack near Madrid, having just played 18 holes with Spanish professional Manuel Pinero. His tournament continued until 1985, managed by his son Nathaniel, who became the US Amateur champion in 1981 at age 19. That record stood until broken in 1994 by Tiger Woods.
