    Ron -

Here's a photo someone posted that shows an original '67 jack board carpet binding seam treatment. No, it isn't pretty.

      Fuel Door

      Thanks

      Ron,

On the 67 fuel door emblem, White is white, and Black is black, but the Red is something special.

After trying not less than a dozen colors in nail polish, Testor's paints, and touch-up paints, and consulting with a graphic artist with a pantone chart, I came up with this:

Yes Duplicolor Touchup NG CC 411 Colorado Red (for Chrysler vehicles) was the color that was "right for me".

You can even use it for nail polish

      Having fun yet,

John, this is exactly what I need.

        Thank you very much.

WOW I'm impressed with your research to get the best RED and with the results as shown in the picture. I was thinking of a number of ways to paint the flags but never consider nail polish. I'll try it.

          Thanks very much.

            Ron,

Here's the before on my untouched emblem, with the color test strips.

Actually, Krylon Cherry Red spray came in a close second, but you have lots of problems masking and spraying such a small area, and then rubbing off the high spots. GM 388 Bright Red touch up was also pretty close, as was the Jungle Red nail polish.

Re: 67 Restoration - Flag Pattern on Gas Lid

Gerry / Others, I saw the attached in Noland Adams 63 - 67 Guide. Do the judges check for the pattern?

This is odd. The flag color pattern on the front emblem flags is different from the flag color pattern on the "production" gas lid.

              Anyone have information on this?

Thanks as always Jerry for the post. You once again have "sacrificed" so we (your buddies) won't have to!!

Along these lines, I can't remember if you had rallys or bolt-ons on the 67, but has anyone tried to restore the red in the bolt-on centers? If not, Jerry, you may be called back to "duty". Shooter

                  Ron,

Here's a thread from the archives on the subject:

                  https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...ttern&uid=3352

I think the consensus there was that the production emblem had a black square in the upper corner on both the 67 front emblem and 67 fuel door emblem. The 67 judging guide notes the pattern for the front emblem, but is silent on the pattern for the fuel door.

So there may be some variances out there.

                    Shooter,

I have ralleys on my 67. But if you send me your bolt-ons for a year or so, I'll give it a try.
