    1963 PB Master Cylinder

JT Pipers is advertising this item with a casting # of 5462389. Yet, I cannot find that # in my parts book.

Can someone tell me if this is the correct #

    Thanks,

    Jerry

Yes, it's the correct CASTING number for a 1963 master cylinder, both with and without power brakes (except Z-06/J-56). Generally, you will not find a power brake casting number in the P&A Catalogs. What you find there is the PART number for the complete master cylinder assembly. Unfortunately, this number appears nowhere on the master cylinder.

Jerry, is this the one on eBay??? If yes, look at the date and the front format. I think the date in the auction is 312. I have never seen a 63 MC with a Julian date. Do you research on this one. It may not be a vette part.

Here is the one from my '63, note the date starts with a letter month code.

Thanks to all who responded. I asked them for a clarifcation of the date.

            Let's see what happens.

If the master cylinder casting number is 5462389 and this was the number used only for the 1963 corvette, how could this 312 julian dated part not have been a Corvette part?
