    Kissimmee 2010 Regional

My wife & I are interested in attending the Florida regional in January. I found their website and a listing for the host hotel, however, the hotel is sold out. We made a reservation at The Royal Suites a few miles away.

Would anyone know if this is a good choice? The link for area information on the web site doesn't work, so we Googled for area hotels.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

I can't speak for that hotel specifically, however 192 in the Kissimmee area is a gigantic tourist trap.

I would believe the accommodations are as good as any other given the closeness to Disney.

Dennis, the first time I attended this Meet I had gotten my airline tickets and had registered for the event and the hotels listed were sold out.

      I started to panic!

I contacted the Event Chairman by email and he gave me the name of the Seralago Hotel that was close to the host hotel and event.

I stayed at the Seralago which was just around the corner from the Suites and easy walking distance.

My review of the Seralago was it was clean and safe and close enought to walk. You do a lot of walking anyway in the Old Town area. The rate was reasonable and less than the Suites.

Last year we reserved early and got into the Suites, but we would stay again at the Seralago. There are also excellent hotels just across the highway. I think it was Marriott or Travel Lodge that I heard was fine too.

Get a hold of the Event Chairman, the Florida Chapter people are very nice and helpful.

Maybe we will see you there in January.

check out the Super 8 Motel Main Gate 5875 Irlo Bronson Hwy (407) 396-8883, it's reasonable, clean, recently remodeled and right across the street from Ole Towne, which makes it easy walking distance to the meet. Gary....

You wont be dissappointed if you stay at Quality suites (at maingate) -which is within a 5 minute walk to the judgeing area- I have stayed there in 08 and 09 and it was very comfortable and convineant ( it has a bedroom ,livingroom and small dinette). I think it was about $100.00 per night and it also has a very nice outside pool area and tiki bar. If I remember correctly during happy hour draft beer was free.
Have fun and good luck with the judgeing

Dennis, I stayed at the Quality Suites last year and it was nice. Large suite, 2 beds, living room, etc. You can walk easily through the parking lot to get the field. Was reasonably priced as well. Their number is 407-396-8040. Good luck, safe travels and see you there. I will be the guy standing next to a 67 Lynndale car taking horse tranquilizers (kidding).......Regards ARA

This will be our first NCRS event.

I was wondering if there is an additional charge, besides the registration fee, for attending a judging event? Also, when are the topics announced?

                          Thanks,

                          Dennis

                            Dennis -

Your registration fee covers everything (unless you're having your car judged, getting a vendor space at the swap meet, or parking a trailer).

There's a judging school on Thursday afternoon where Roy Sinor shares updates on any judging changes, and morning-afternoon Advanced Judging Seminars on Friday and Saturday, as shown in the Schedule of Events.

                            You'll enjoy it!
