Tips for identifying 66 427/425 car

I'm looking at a 66 427/425 car in about an hour. Suppossed numbers matching original car needing full restoration. (here we go)

I have the Black book and can identify casting numbers date codes and can spot the easier restamps, but am unfamilar with the subtleties of the the Mid year Big blocks.

Any other giveaways of a created Big block that's often overlooked?

If I can get pictures of the pad I'll post it tonight.

    Thanks

Well, here are a few things off the top of my head... L72 cars were all K66 transitorized ignition, so look for the amplifier mounted to the left front of the radiatior support, visable with the hood open. Look for were the ballast resistor would be on non-K66 cars, there may be a hole, but look to see if it looks as if there was ever a screw in it. Of course the hi-redline tack and 80lb oil pressure guage. Accelerator lever (firewall side) is BB only, would have rear sway bar, HD side yokes on the diff... brass rad... I'm sure there are some things I'm forgetting but I got to go right now...

    Good luck,
    Steve
