I'm familiar with two types of silkscreen instructions on the underside of the chrome top lid for midyear and shark cars up to 1972. Straight and curved. This would be the style that uses the 212 CW air filter. I'm familiar with the 70 and up (maybe earlier) cars having straight format. Can someone identify when the curved style was used and confirm that the straight style was used exclusively for 70's cars. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Open Air Cleaner - Silkscreen Instructions
What does the 68 AIM call out for a AC asy?
Same thing for 69, AIM asy #.
There were different timing depending upon the part numbers.
The other thing note in a similar thread is there are 2 letter codes in the silk screening, do you see differences in that text?- Top

Re: Open Air Cleaner - Silkscreen Instructions
Ron the two letter code referenced in another thread is unusual. Most air cleaner lid silk screen instructions, regardless curved or straight, do not have the two letter code.Terry- Top

Re: Open Air Cleaner - Silkscreen Instructions
I have a CZ. There is a chart that shows letter codes and the filter and assembly part numbers that they correspond to. These are the straight ones.
Yes, I have never seen a curved one with letter codes.
I am sure on a part number cross reference to GM AIM's that these were car line or engine type specific. Unfortunately the CZ wasn't on the chart.- Top
