I've heard this said many times that there is a rule that during Flight Judging, the owner must remain with the car at all times during the judging session. True or false? Thanks PT

Re: NCRS Flight Judging question...
I believe that would be correct. I'm sure there are special circumstances where this rule may not apply. Like having multiple cars judged ?????Tom Hendricks

Re: NCRS Flight Judging question...
Most Chapter meets tie the owner to the car with a 10 foot rope. Regionals use a 5 foot and at Nationals the owner gets locked inside the car with the windows shut.
The reason for the rule is to ensure that the owner is present when each of the judging teams come a-callin' and either want to discuss some points with or have him remove some parts, open doors, hoods etc.
Most time common sense should prevail and as long as he is nearby on the premises, the sky will not fall. Just don't expect the judges to wait while someone goes searching.- Top

Re: NCRS Flight Judging question...
Pat,
If you must leave your car (having another car judged at the meet, nature call, etc) while judging team(s) are on your call, give them a heads up and let them know you will be back in a few minutes. If you should have to leave your car while no judges are present, let the car owners on each side of you know you are leaving. If judges show up and you are not there, they are likely to ask other folks standing around if they know where the owner went. Works for me.
Best regards,- Top

Re: NCRS Flight Judging question...
Thanks to everyone for the heads up. Sounds OK to me. I take it you can wander a little bit, as long as you are within eye site of your car. PT- Top
