On the drivers side of the gas tank on a 1971 LT-1 ,near the top is the fuel seoarator valve.I have one that leaks and needs some glue to fix it .I've tried ,acetone, laquer thinner, epoxy, cyanoacrylate, testors model cement,P V C glue, nitromethane and acrylic cement. None of these have the ability to adhear or make the part soft. The question is what is this part made of and what will glue it ?

They're available in reproduction. Well worth the $40-50 for a safety related item.

Re: Fuel Separator Valve
I agree for safety one ought to replace it -- especially as in this case leaking gasoline will land on the muffler. Given a hot muffler your Corvette could easily be toast. Toasty Corvettes stink.Terry- Top

I think these separators are made from linear polypropylene. As Patrick said, you won't glue it. Although I think there are now some adhesives that will bond this material, I strongly doubt they will resist gasoline. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
