If anyone has photos of a correct powerglide transmission for a 66 Corvette I would very much appreciate if they could post them. Also, will a drive shaft from a 4spd interchange with a powerglide transmission? (small block application) Thanks for the help.

Yes - all midyears used the same driveshaft, regardless of engine/transmission combination.- Top

Richard
Pictures of original '66 transmission follow. There is no VIN stamp on Powerglide, however the coding on mine (Jul 13th assembly date car) is T0627D for Toledo, June 27th, Day shift.
I understand that '65-'67 Powerglides are the "easy ones" to find. Same as passenger car except for linkage, dipstick and tube, all with the 11-1/4" extension.- Top

Re: C2 powerglide & driveshaft
Jeff,
The pictures are very helpful. I expect the 11-1/4" dimension is measured from the surface where the tailshaft and main body attach to the end of the tail shaft casting. Is there a casting number somewhere on the main body and / or tail shaft that would identify the unit as Corvette also?
Any idea what the powerglides sell for; as a rebuilder?, as rebuilt?, approximate rebuild cost?
Thanks again.- Top

I don't think there is any casting number difference, either for the main case or the extension housing, of a 65-67 Corvette Powerglide or a 65-67 passenger car Powerglide. For earlier, I'm not sure.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
