Years ago Michael wrote Corvette Articles and I am wondeing if anyone knows if he is still around and if so, how can I contact him. I read somewhere on the Internet that he passed on.

    Re: Michael Hunt

I am sure others who know will respond but I'm quite sure that he is deceased. He was a great resource in the early years of the hobby. He was a great help to me in understanding my 57 FI car.

Killed a few years ago in a motorcycle accident. No one is sure what happened to all of his data for 56/57 cars.

To some extent (and I do not know just how much) Ken Kayser has some of the information/data the Mike had accumulated. But I can't say just how much Ken is, or has, expanded on it.
Additionally, much of the information that Ken has published has been very similar, or the same, as what Mike had published. And much of the information that Mike provided in the past did NOT reveal his sources--------------and today, it is still somewhat of a mystery where he obtained the information. To date, the information that was published by Mike still seems to be very valid, I just wish we knew more about his sources.
Also, the biggest majority (if not all) of the information that has been published by Ken, especially in his new book, seems to have come directly from GM documents. Thus, it appears to be quite accurate. As a result of the information that has been uncovered and published by Ken, some changes have finally occured in the 56-7 TIM-JG.

And as a side note, Jack Knudsen, who worked at the St. Louis plant (although, I don't know how long), had accumulated DAILY VINs for the early cars and he had this in a little spiral bound notebook (hand written-first/last car each day). Jack is now deceased, and as far as I know, NO ONE has been able to obtain this information from his surviving family members. This little book contained very valuable information on daily production and I was fortunate that he gave me my build date for the 56 at the natl NCRS meet in St. Louis in 81. But, alas, SOMEONE (to this date I don't know who was the offender) pissed him off during the meet, he closed his notebook and it has NOT been opened to anyone since!!!!!!!!!!!!! If someone here was the guilty offender, PLEASE tell us what you did/said that has prevented the rest of us from seeing this information!
