    T Tops

During Flight judging are the T Tops judged on or off the car? Tx.

I think if you check the judging manual you will find they need to be removed to check the weatherstrip and all the other parts on the inside are easy to look at it when they are off. I checked every thing on the bottom at that time when I judged exterior. They are on most of the time but I had to take them off and hold them while the judges inspected them on my T-Top.

I've never had to remove one nor seen one removed, nor asked for such.

            Re: T Tops

If judging by the 70-72 TIM&JG it says exterior judges should judge the T-Top weatherstrip and the owner should remove them. Has any owner had to take off their T-Tops for weatherstrip inspection?

              Re: T Tops

Lyle is correct, the TIM & JG says, "The owner is responsible for removing each panel so that weatherstrip may be examined." I have asked owners to remove the tops on their t-top cars when judging 70-72. Besides looking at the weather stripping I also look at the latches and the rubber tips on the latches.

I've never seen it done! BUT, the NCRS Judging Reference Manual DOES make provisions for judges to request the owner to remove this/that part for visual inspection. So, I won't rule out the possibility that some judges might.

About the only place I've seen T-Tops 'dinked with' on the Judging Field is on those Shark cars equipped with anti-theft alarms and the Operations team wanted to verify the functionality of the anti-theft trigger switches...

You don't need to go to the NCRS Judging Reference Manual. It's in black and white on page 48 of the fourth edition TIM&JG. If the judges are reading the book like we all do when we get moved out of our regular class it will be their. Owner removes T-Top judges check weatherstrip. All other parts interior judges.

                    Re: T Tops

At the New England Regional, I was asked to lift them up and demonstrate the latching during Operations. During Exterior judging, I was not asked to remove them.
