62 serial # on frame location

I need to know where I find the serial # on the frame on a 62 corvette?? Can anyone help. Thanks.

It will be on the driver side frame rail, on the top of the rail, about where your hip is when you sit in the seat. You usually can see it with a small mirror after you clean the top of the rail. There is about a half inch above the rail to the bottom of the floor so it is difficult but possible with a bright light. You can take a piece of scotch tape and place it on the serial number and pick up the dirt around the numbers. Then transfer the tape to a sheet of paper and the numbers are preserved.

Be careful when you clean the Frame stamping. My `62's was very faint.
