overall length of mid year body only

i am getting ready to put my 67 convertable onto my rotiserie to do all the body work needed. i want to stretch out the rails no more than required to work on the front & rear section. i have measured twice and cut once (Ha-Ha). in my Corvette literature, i found all but the overall length of the boody. i measured 172" but maybe the years have shrunk the actual length. i have been told by my doctor that i have shrunk in heighth and maybe also other parts have suffered from this

where may one find this Corvette information in print?

The overall length of the body, according to the original drawings, is exactly 172.71". (that's from a 66 GM drawing)

Jim, are you talking about the length of the body excluding what the bumpers might add? Brooks Glover (2141)

No Brooks, just the body fiberglass, but you bring up an issue i hadn't thought about. i will need enough room to pre-fit the bumpers as well.

What better results could i ask for from this forum than to have all the information to write down in my shop manual for future reference....Thanks John H. for your time to post this information.
