I believe the different part numbers among other things told what the Speedo drive setup was in the trans.

Well you have a couple of "possible" Corvettes in there:

Looking in Rev 7-1-69 of Chevrolet P&A30, and '68 catalog (first ed. Sept '67); Gr 4.003:

tag 3950356 is '69 Corvette (exc. P/Trac), and Pass. (exc. reg. fuel. P/Trac). $322.00

tag 3946798 is Corvette-only, 4 different '69 variations (probably speedo gear, as Bill says), all close-ratio; same price. Ask me if you want me to type out all the possibilities .

(possibly) tag # 3870357 (if 2nd last number is a 5 in tag of top right column -- hard to see) wide ratio Corvette and Passenger, if it's a '5'.

The 3841435 is probably '64 or prior; the ones with the suffix letters are around 1970 or later. The one that begins with '9' is non-Chevrolet (another GM division like Pontiac).

Another hint is to look in the M20/21 and G81 sections of the Corvette AIM's of various years.

3870357 is in my 66 Chevelle and El Camino AIM

M20 13817-67 RPO L-34 + L35

This Muncie M20 was used in the Chevelle SS 396 with either the 360HP 396 or the 325HP 396. It would also be used in the El Camino with a L34 or L35. Interestingly, the Muncie M20 used with the L78 375HP engine had a different number.
