If your car is high or low one corner . Is the problem front or rear .There is A very simple test and very very accurate. At one ned of the car front or rear determine center line of the frame .The C1 is the easy becuase the center steering link is centered on the front crossmeber and has A cast line in the middle of the mount bracket.Place A socket or piece of tubbing on the jack pad of a floor jack.Jack the car up on the center line of the frame raising the wheels of the ground. measure the oppisite end of the car. If it is level the problem is on the end of the car with jack. If it is not level the problem is on the end of the car that is on the ground . What you are doing is putting the entire weight of the car one end and letting the car rock on the socket or tubbing which is center.Make sure you do this on A level surface.

Re: Car not setting level How to check
Great idea Dan, never thought of that!
My 59 has always been about 1/2" higher on right rear. Could never tell if it's the opposite front corner or if it is actually the rear.
With the recent C1 discussion about different height spindle supports(aka steering knuckles), I went out and checked mine today. They're both the correct ones. I'll use your method to check my differences.

Re: Car not setting level How to check
Hi Dan,
Thanks for a good suggestion. There are a surprising number of owners who ask about the car not sitting level, and aren't sure where to begin. (ME!)
