The letter from GM telling the original owner how to get their Emergency Key cut? Took my car through the Texas Regional (Top Flight), but this came up. I Never have heard of it, myself. If you have one could you scan it in a .jpg or .tif format?

I can't remember the letter exactly, do you know if it was mailed to the owner, or did it come with the car ??? I'll have to dig through my 90 stuff.

I believe they said it was mailed to the original owner. If there was something that came with the car I've never seen, either.

What I believe is being questioned is in the New 1994-96 Judging Manual, under the section center console and glove box contents is shown "Emergency keys and key notice sheet". As everyone is stating this was sent to the owner by GM after the Corvette was sold. I personally do not know if this is correct. I am attaching what I believe is part of the item shown in the Judging Manual. I do not have the letter.

The picture you posted is of an original emergency key for a 95. I don't recall the letter, especially for a 90. Still looking guys. Been gone for a couple of days on the bike, so I'll get back to digging.

I have the key, but was dinged on the letter.It's not the point I lost, it's wanting to see the darn thing and have a complete set of documents. Y'know how it is..................

Jim, if the letter was mailed to the original owner by Chevrolet it would be a nice to have item. Am curious about a point deduction for something that wasn't there when the car left the factory unless they're saying it was included in normal dealer prep? Gary....

It i slisted as a judged item in the Judging Manual for the 90 ZR-1. It is listed as "Emergency Key and Key Notice Sheet"

letter had to be in the car at delivery from the dealer, not mailed to the owner after the fact - otherwise, can't see how you could lose a point

The "pizza box" was delivered to the original owner by GM after purcahse and its contents are judged. It is what it is.
