    Ronald,

It sounds like you are working without the Judging Guide. I would suggest getting one from the NCRS store. The Judging Sheets are available on this web site.

      Re: 1966 Glove box items

I have the worksheet, but that does not specify the contents.

The 1966 guide is not available from this website - yet - all other years have the "Buy" button...

And - the question on the AMFM - which one is correct?

Small points (5) but if one is to get these items, might as well get the correct items.

I don't have a '66 AIM handy, but the '67 book lists the ancillary items shipped with the cars (by PN) in a table at the front of the book, UPC 0, Sheet C1.

Thanks - that is where I was a few weeks back.

The question is on the AMFM booklet - what did that look like as there are multiple vendors saying they have it and they are distinctly different, have not replied if & what the part number is on the booklet they have for sale.

Two of those items are the item numbers I put in the original post.

They all look pretty much the same with the differences being PN and revision/edition. The books changed over time as more and more FM stations across the country came into service.

So, to purchase a 'correct' booklet to match your car, you need to know what PN was originally shipped with the car (either AIM or JG book) and then verify its revision/edition date, rationalizing it to your car's model year and actual build date...

Those who offer a book for sale and simply state that it's 'correct' without giving you both the PN and revision/edition data, are pretty much whistling 'Dixie'...

              Ronald,
I do not have the 66 Judging Guide but 66's used a 7291985 radio sheet. I believe 66's also have a yellow radio tag on one of the radio knobs. Both are available in reproduction if you are inclined to go that route. Originals are scarce and can be expensive. 64's and 65's had an AM/FM Pocket Guide but I believe 66's did not have one. Others can confirm.
You will also need a trim ring card. They too are available in reproduction.

                Dave..

You have it right. The AM-FM "Pocket Guide" was not shipped with a new 66. That item was 64 and 65 only.

The radio folder for 65 through 67 was part number 7291985, as you mentioned.

                  Ronald,
If you have a hardtop, you'll also need a hardtop wrench in a cloth bag; with knock-off wheels, a "Quick Take-Off Wheel Instruction Card" (part # 3866414). The paper documents should be in a Chevrolet plastic envelope (part # 3834959).
                  Good luck!
                  Jeff

Also, if you have a hartop and the hardtop is on the car, the bolt, rubber washer and nut should also be in the bag. They plug the holes when the softtop is up and keeps the water out.

I think only the rubber washer would be in the IP compartment if the hardtop is installed during judging. The bolt and nut would be used to mount the top.

Interesting discussion and input is much appreciated.

The Assembly manual indicates these g box items:

                            3879852 owners guide

shoulder harness card - not on this car

did any one look at those eBay items numbers in the original post?
just to see if one of those two are the AMFM card indicated?

If the asm manual indicated this why the comment they were not shipping that way?
The only change referenced was 4/22/66 adding the shoulder harness.

the yellow hang tag is shown on pg f434

Very interesting discussion on the convertible top.
Question on that - if a car did not come with the hard top, was the lift panel different? I.E. did not have holes or?

Another way to ask this would be sans any g/box conv top items, what would the indicators be that the car came with one?

The ebay auction you show for the AM-FM "Operating Instructions" is for a passenger car. It states "and stereo adapter" on the front page. The Corvette sheet states only "Chevrolet Corvette AM-FM Radio.
