    1964 convertible. Serial # 134 Body # 75 Job #128

You will note that the body # is half of production at this point. Coupes and Convts. had different sets. And, that AOS production had not started.

Gilbert, do you know what options were built on the car?

      Thanks!

        Wayne,
I did realize that the coupes and convertibles were separate. Just for the sake of converstion, what build date is that car? A4, or A5, or was that also a first day car? I was thinking (again I know nothing) that at 25 cars, they would have been just ramping up production, but wouldn't they still have to be putting out 8-10 an hour? At that rate this car (the vin #25) may have been before lunch on the first day of production. Something John Hinckley may know more about. It seems fairly easy for me to see how they might have some issues getting going and that number being off by three does not seem alarming. Interesting (to me at least) how they were off by 3 in the first 25 cars (alledgedly), and then it took more than 100 more to get off by 3 more. I know all about the Quality Control aspect, but that is a area that certainly was not what it is today in 1963. I thought back then no one cared (Just kidding).

Hey your taxing my memory, that was a month ago (ha ha). Seriously, looking right now, and going down the list in my handy spec guide, not much. as I said NOM, but tach was for low horsepower car, vinyl trim, 4 speed, and a radio, was manual brake, but REALLY do not remember power steering but I don't think so. REAr end was rebuilt and mounted in the chassis, but not sure about posi (most likely), or the ratio. I think that was about it. It was really nothing special about it that jumped out at me, although I usually try to downplay anything good when I am on the buying end if you know what I mean.

Jack, is the 1963 Pilot Line London show car serial #22...or is it #23?
I have #23 recorded in my '63 file as being a PRIMER/Black coupe that was a SO car for the London show. Were there perhaps 2 SO cars built for this occasion?

Let's see, Syd... No, I'm wrong and you're right, the SN is #23 and the shop order is 10271.

We were 'blind sided' at the joint UK-Dutch chapter meet in LeMans France in 2006 when the current owner joined our road trip across France, joined NCRS, and had us Flight Judge his car. It took a while for things to dawn on him:

Specifically, Flight Judging is for factory production cars and 'one of a kind' cars like his fall into a separate recognition category (American Heritage). But, once the 'special' nature of his car surfaced, things clicked upstairs and we all got along FAMOUSLY!

It was a JOY to see and work with both that car and the current owner. In addition to our Flight Judging, that Corvette was used in the Parade du Pilotes the night before the 24 Heurs du Mans race and give a hot track parade lap pass just before the main race began the next day.

Both car and owner are very special...
