Be careful cleaning the LT1. You don't want to remove any of those marks we love so much, so start with the mildest cleaning agent first. Dish washing soap and water works well for a starter. Look it over carefully to be sure you are not about to lose any labels before you start.
That's a kind offer, that I will consider, tough with a one car trailer?

On the subject of cleaning, I was just asking myself if it would be best to simply reveal the necessary cast numbers and date codes and leave the grease and grime. Don't the leaks, oils, dirts, teach us a lot about the "failures" of a part? I would love to remove the grime very carefully of course but how clean? I figured to take a couple hundred pictures then clean it.

Which one would you like to drive to the meet? LOL

Any of them -- your choice.

I would be pleased to help.

        Re: 1972 LT1 w/air

As a follow up to this thread, I was wondering if there is a 71LS6 Bowtie car in War Bonnet yellow that we could find and add to this display?

        Regards,

        Kevin

          Kevin,
If you and the folks running the convention are serious about your "display" send a message to Roy Sinor. He has the list of ALL Bowtie cars.

I can't think of a Bowtie LS6 in Warbonnet Yellow, but my memory doesn't mean squat. Email Roy.

Terry, I did receive a tip on a possible owner. As Dave mentioned his base motor 71 will be there along with my LT1 (assuming a sign off), so it's a matter of transporting the LS5. If all four could be arranged it really would be a neat display.

              Kevin,
Lets plan on doing it. Terry's suggestion of contacting Roy is the way to go. Either of us can do it or maybe Roy will pick up on the thread and try to get us in touch w/ a fellow LS-6 owner. I seem to remember a warbonnet LS-6 Bowtie car parked next to me in Windsor. Lets communicate off line.

                Dave,

In my 2004 pics, the only ones I can see are actually the 2 you guys now own - Charlie's car and what is now Kevin's car.

                  Patrick,
I had my 70 Donneybrook LT-1 there and I think this LS-6 was a couple of cars down from it. One row away from the Petty car.

                      My pictures are below.

Here is one from John Hinckley; note the Warbonnet car in the middle:

Here's a link to all the 2004 Corvette pics, but I only see the 2 cars you guys own + Dick Anckenbrandt's LT-1:

Question ?, what was the first vin.# with a/c option installed on a 1972 corvette with any engine? Thanks, Steve

Here's a few more. Resolution isn't that good since they're scans. Can't believe that was 5.5 years ago already!

In case anyone else is interested in joining this party, there is another War Bonnet yellow LT-1 with a/c and deluxe saddle leather interior from New Jersey on that auction site.
