Looking at several vin #'s and noticed difference on several 2002 ZO6's.
VIN #1: 1G1YY12S 9 25135000
VIN #2: 1G1YY12S X 25135001
Why does one Vin have a X and one a 9. What is the significance of this digit/letter?
1: USA
G: GM
1: Chevrolet
YY: Corvette
1: Coupe
2: Safety equipment --air bags, etc
S: Motor type--5.7 L seq. fuel injection 2001-2004
X or 9:???
2: Year 2002
5: Built in Kentucky
135000 0r 135001: number in sequence when car was built.
Can someone explain the X or 9--why the difference and what does it stand for.
Thanks Paul
