'63-65 Compressor Caution Label [Refrigerent (sic) spelling]

Pic of an original early '65 A/C compressor [has "302" rear head plate with I-15-4 (Sept 15th 1964) cast date]. Although not off a Corvette, its warning sticker (pretty rough shape) has the CORRECT spelling of 'Refrigerant', whereas the reproduction (larger font than original) does not. Decal shown was purchased about 1983 (water soluble) and is the same as shown in Noland's Vol 2 (labels section, page 61), although he does pick up on the incorrect spelling.

I notice that some repro catalogs still offer this misspelled decal 26 years later; one exception may be Zip, who also seems to show the original small font.

Are these large font "Refrigerent" decals showing up on the judging field ? Having been around for so long, are they now considered TFP .

Just for fun go to google and type in refrigerent. When you do nice reply pops up saying "do you mean refrigerant?"

Does the NCRS store offer a decoding ring?

Back to the warning label -- it is a DECAL (waterslide) rather than a sticker, correct?

Actually there is a page in the links above for LINGO, but it is all Corvette or NCRS related. I have a twenty-something at home and she is slowly teaching me all this texting lingo -- even though I refuse to TEXT anything -- my thumbs don't move that way.

For a secret (well really NOT) decoder ring try this:
