Installing the hood for the first time. Female locks have not been mounted yet. With the hood bolted to the radiator support, the middle of the back ledge protrudes approximately 1/2" above the body (by fresh air lid). The hood frame properly abuts the angled support in this area, but the lip protrudes and cannot be pushed down by hand. Is this symptomatic of an improper fit (shimming, other) or is this somehow resolved once the locks are installed and the hood is secured.

Re: C1 Hood Installation
Richard, when I installed the hood on my '57 I did not have the males bolted on and it was high in the middle, each of the three times I have done it. After attaching the males I had to slightly adjust for a "factory" fit.
Also, each of the three times I put the hood on the males "hung up" in the females and I could not release with the hood release bowdens. They were at a slight angle. I had to reach from under the car, through the engine compartment and release the females by pushing on them where the bowdens attach. It is much easier without the engine installed, or at least the exhaust pipes and battery.
Good Luck!

Re: C1 Hood Installation
Please don't do it by yourself. Bubba me tried it myself and had to stop before I had to repaint it againMine has a couple of shims under it to get the lines like a new Audi. Stewy
