62 Mirror disassembly for rechroming

Can you disassemble an interior mirror to have the case rechromed? If so, any procedures or pictures on how to do it?

Joe Calcagno wrote an article in the Restorer Vol 17 # 1 on this very subject. The problem with triple chroming the mirror case was recrimping the glass into the case. The triple chroming process created a brittle edge that cracked easily when the glass was recrimped into the case. I found it easier to trade my old mirror to a mirror specialist for a restored one. Cost was about $120.
