Top Up and Ready for the Cold

Well it's that time of year again, here in Northern Illinois. Got the old girl ready for her winter snooze (Top up....of course) and will anxiously be awaiting spring. Didn't put too many miles on her this year, only 513 total and the longest trip we made was to Bloomington Gold in St. Charles, IL. (approx. 78 miles round trip). Didn't even get up to Lake Geneva, WI. this summer for their antique boat and car show, bummer!
Enjoy and drive em' while ya can before Mother Nature says NO!

    Marty,

Put my top up @ 3 weeks ago . . .but the beauty of living in Maryland is that we can drive 'em that way for a little longer. I love to drive my '66 in the fall - and on sunny winter days - or at least until the first snow and the streets get covered with salt!!!

Martin, that's why I left Streator, IL. 31 years ago. We can drive them year round down here. Of course with no a/c it's much better at this time of the year. Gotta love the South. "Save the wave".

Re: Top Up and Ready for the Cold

I drive my '66 all thru the winter when we have nice clear days. I live in Colorado Springs, but work in Denver (125 mile round trip) where we had 18 inches of snow last week. Most of the snow melted off this weekend as we had clear, sunny skies and 60+ degree weather. Prediction all this week is for clear and sunny and more 60+ degree weather, so I will give it a couple days for the sand to clear off the roads and take it to work one day this week. The top will be up going to work in the morning, but with 60 degrees and clear skies, it will be down on the drive home.

They haven't starting salting yet. We should still have some sunny dry days before the snow flies.

You'll probably tease me again this year with yours and come out when it's snowin'! Nice picture from the course, although that's a damn ugly car next to yours Bob.

Put the 63 and the 06 away last weekend. Too much snow, sand, salt and cold to drive. Hibernation will end next April. I made my calls to XM and OnStar to suspend service. I also drop the collision on the 06 to save lot's of $$$$.
