Does anyone know where to find five 1 5/8" valve stems and dill caps for a '65 corvette with steel wheels?

Re: Corvette steel wheels
You're gonna be mighty disappointed if you put 1_5/8" valve stems on '65-6 steel wheels. If you do, you'll need to remove the wheelcover every time you want to check pressure or add air. The stem cap will be down in the hole, below the surface of the cover.
The '65 TIM&JG should have said 2" stems. Maybe for the KO's, the shorter stem is TFP, but not the standard wheels.
Big pics show a 2" stem and with the wheelcover on (notice protrusion). This particular JK rim has a 3_65 production date. Thumbnails show the inside with what I believe is the original stem. TR-418 2" stems are still available; maybe not through GM, though.
I'm sure Mike Murray has this already in his file for the next updates to the '65 manual.

Re: Corvette steel wheels
Wayne you are correct, from the top of the rim to the top of the stem should be 2". On the bottom of the stem should say TR-418 Schrader USA as per Nolan Adams book page 265. And of course the Dill 627 slotted cap. If anyone needs the stem, cap, and correct wheel weights please send me a message.- Top
