    There isn't a difference because there is no 437-16. In a recent thread, Terry McM. explained that the 16 resulted from the spec taken from the Delco Test Spec book, which shows 8 distributor degrees max. (or 16 degrees crankshaft equivalent). But all 437's are stamped "15".

      I hope you are right Wayne (that all 437s are stamped -15) because as soon as we put that number in the TIM&JG I expect we will see threads about all the 437-16 that folks have. That is just the way it goes.

        thanks wayne, that should explain why i cant find one and why every car i look at has the 437-15 on it. good to know. i have a nos 437-15 i was going to use if i could not find the correct part. i need to spend more time on here.

          Terry --- I've got one too (437_15). Here's my Delco Test Spec book showing the 437 (last line) with the 8 degrees max. distr. vac advance. The asterisk on the column says +/- one degree (distr. degrees), so really Delco is saying that it could give 14 to 18 degrees crank adv. without going out of spec.
