I value the opinions on this board, so can I ask a tire question not related to Corvettes? I need 2 tires P235x55R-18. The SUV has Goodyear Eagle RS on it now. They are no longer made. Goodyear has a Eagle Assurance tire now. It looks like the Eagle RS. Does anyone have any experience with this tire. I have Bridgestones on my SUV and they have a lot of road noise. My wifes with the Goodyears is much quieter. Any other recomendations? DaleI

Dale, I have Firestones that came on our '09 Chevy SUV and they generate alot of road noise. Although I have not used the Assurances I have Michelin LTX's on the '99 Suburban and they are great. Originally delivered with GY's and they gave good ride and wear also. I have GY's on two of the Corvettes and have always been pleased with them (both with FE7). I drive them hard.

Re: Help tires
Do you go off-road any? or stay on blacktop all the time? If you go off-road, I'd recommend either BF Goodrich All-Terrain TAs or Goodyear Wranglers (with Kevlar). I've used the TAs for many years on my Jeep Grand Cherokees for both on and off-road and they can't be beat. 3 years ago, I had a set of the Wranglers (reluctantly) put on, but I've been very happy with them also. The TAs are a little bit nosier than the Wranglers, but they are great off road and in snow and wear like iron. If you strickly stay on pavement, then I would go with a tire made for the road which would give you better mileage and be quieter.- Top

Re: Help tires
Dale, I had good luck with a couple of sets of Uniroyals, but wanted something quieter, rode in a truck with Michelins, too hard & too loud. Local GY dealer said the Wranglers were the quietest on the road. I was dubious because the look abit like Knobbies, but, pleasantly surprised. They are very quiet and smooth riding.
