    Breaking News! Just like TV!!
Apparently the owner of the drowned Bugatti lives in Lufkin TX where he owns an exotic car sales business. This was supposedly one of his many toys. He declined an on camera interview with the local ABC affiliate.
    Best regards,

I love it! The guy with the camera saying "that will be mine one day" well, he can get a pretty good discount on it now!

(I didn't see any pelican, did you?)

So he is from Texas, and had no one to hold his cell phone.

He must be selling something else to afford a car like that. I can't imagine an exotic car business in Lufkin feeding a starving dog...he must do a lot of long distance advertising.

Here is a dry one in Michigan and the owner knows how to drive it.

Regarding the pelican, that was one of the questions raised on Fox News this morning. They also found it suspect that the crash was being video recorded from a car driving along side the Bugatti as it crashed.

The owner of the "bubbling Bugatti", and the "balloon boy" family all use the same press agent.

The report I read stated $1.2 million, not $2 million. Still waaay overpriced for 1,000 hp. My Sting Ray is waaay prettier, too.

The guy should have been driving a Sting Ray with side exhaust. There is no way I can carry on a phone conversation with those things bellowing just below my window! Besides, driving my L76 coupe takes ALL my concentration, that's why I call "her" my red-headed mistress.

Here is some Bugatti Veyron interesting facts stated in Motor Trend Mag:

Horsepower is guaranteed to be at least 1001 HP.
                                12 Cooling radiators(why?)
26 gallons of fluid EXCLUDING FUEL
26 gallon fuel tank to support 253 mph for a total of 50 miles, 1.9 mpg.
Tire life is 10,000 miles, wheel life is 30,000 miles
A set of wheels and tires cost about $73,000.00.
7 speed twin clutch automatic trans, costs $172,000.00 plus labor to replace. Sounds like a VW DSG trans except more gears and strength.
Titanium bolts used that cost $85.00 each and are only used once, Torque and stretch bolts.
60,000 mile service requires "spliting the car in half". Can be serviced at 1 of 5 dealers or by calling the mobile workshop (I wonder what that cost?).

Sounds like a ZR1 is a great deal........
