Hello Jack. On behalf of the Michigan Chapter NCRS, we'd like to invite you to an organized/group visit during your 2010 trek across the country if your timing allows. We have quite an active group, including many members with a solid collection of significant cars. We'd love to host you for an afternoon and include you and your car in one of our regular technical seminars.

I have spoken (email) with our Chapter Judging Chairman, and suggested that we see if you might be able to visit with us all as a group on your way through Michigan. My suggestion was supported, so here's the invite!

Our proposal would be to plan a gathering of cars and owners where you can present your car and tell us about the restoration project and your trip around the country with the finshed product.

Each year, we participate in a couple nice summer outings. On July 25th, we'll likely gather at the Meadowbrook Concours d'elegance in Rochester Hills, MI. It's a great event. I've included a link for you to check it out.

Also, depending on your timing, availability and interest, we'd like to include you in our annual participation in the famous Woodward Dream Cruise. Link: http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/ The cruise this year will be held on Saturday, August 21st, however, there's plenty of action for the whole week leading up to the actual day of the cruise. Cars come from all over the country and beyond to play.

Of course if neither of these dates fit your timing, we'd find a date where we could meet in a less formal setting, but share all the experiences just the same.

Think about it please. We are hopeful that you can join us and share some of the tales and experiences we all love about these cars. We'd love to see you!
Thanks for the invite. I plan to leave on August 1, I should be in Mich. by the 3rd week. It is hard to say until I get more pin locations on my US map. By deep winter I should have my basic route planned, with side trips coming off the planned route around the country.

I look forward to meeting you and your chapter members, I am sure to see some pretty nice cars and meet great folks.

Please go easy on my car and all her imperfections , remember , (she ) is still allowing me to drive (her) after all these years.

    Jack

Sure, Jack. We'll stay in touch and I look forward to the visit. By the third week of August, Woodward Avenue will be jumping. If you haven't heard about this event, do check it out on the web. Past years are storied to have brought over 40,000 cars from as far away as Australia and more than 1 million specators. It's billed as the largest single-day cruise in the world. Some fish stories? Perhaps. There's no denying, however, that it's a big, big deal!

Jack, if you come through Memphis, I'm just across the river in Marion, Arkansas. (You can see the Memphis cityscape from my east and south windows.)

I'll show you how I repaired my "C4 floor" condition and regale you with Corvette and airplane stories.

Shall I pm you with contact particulars?

Have a great and SAFE trip.

Yes , please do. I am starting to plot a course and as I put more pins (locations to visit) on my Map, the best route to accomplish my trip will start to unveil its self to me, I hope !

I will pass through your area will probably on the way east as I am crisscrossing south and southern mid section of the country around the start of October.

          Jack

          Thanks for the invite.

            Jack;

We are easy to find, 100 miles east of Dallas, 100 miles west of Texarkana, and only about 7 miles south of I-30. Easy to find. 'Some good restaurants near here; BBQ extra large potato with butter, sour cream, bacon bits, chives and 1 lb. of brisket on top then the sauce, or a great flat iron steak, salad bar, home made croutons and bread, or a pizza buffet with wings and ribs, or DQ if you like.

I don't have the hat or the boots. October will be good top down weather here. Yes, I still have the '57.

Great, I look forward to seeing you and hearing about your wonderful car.

PM with zip code so I can start plugging stops in my computer.

I just put a pin in my map. PM your location zip code. I know I will be in the Seattle area and The Olympic Peninsula looks wonderful.

Looking forward to making it over the Rockies before first snow..... I hope I am just kidding, you know what happen to the Donner Party.
