    CFC Brochure-Encore

I have conducted more research on the question of CFC Brochures that are shown in the 94-96 Judging Manual as part of the Center Console and Glove Box items.

It appears that the CFC Brochure shown in the Judging Manual is of a Green Printing and of a large arrow shown on the face. I use the arrow as it is a good determination between Blue and Green Printing.

The manual stated that the CFC Brochure was used in all 1994, 1995 and 1996 Corvettes.

I have seen the following CFC's included in owners manual packets for sale.

1994 ZR1 Center Console - Blue Printing, smaller arrow.
1994 Olds - Blue Printing, smaller arrow.
1994 Corvette - Blue Printing, smaller arrow.
1994 Cavalier, Blue Printing, smaller arrow.

1993 Cutlass- Green Printing, Large arrow.
1993 Grand AM- Green Printing, Large Arrow.

From my limited information is appears that in 1993 the CFC,s were Green and the 1994's were blue.

Anyone have any thoughts what is the correct CFC Brochure. I don't at this time have any for the 1995 and 1996.

    Re: CFC Brochure-Encore

    Charlie,

My CFC pamphlet for my 93 ZR-1 is green, and the Satisfaction pamphlet is blue. Do you have all of the other items from the center console, ie; tire warranty, roadside assistance, warranty assistance pamphlets. There was a letter signed by J.C. Perkins, General Manger of the Chevrolet Motor Division that was in my packet.

      Re: CFC Brochure-Encore

Ed, what I have learned or think I have learned is that the 1994-96 Judging Manual may have mistakes in the area of what contents should be in the center console. I have come up with information that the CFC Brochure was issued when the refrigerant was CFC-12 and was considered harmful. My 1995 had HFC-134a for refrigerant and therefore I believe that the CFC Brochure was not needed. I have what I consider an original center console packet. What I have found is that GM for 1993 issued the CFC with green printing and in 1994 issued the CFC with blue printing.

There are a number of items not shown on the list in the JM that should be there, e.g. pen and flashligh, owner video and some other documents.

This is a new manual and some revsions will be made I am sure.

      Thanks for your response.
