    FX3 selector discolored

I know of no source for new FX3/dual sport seat combination switches.

Mine are so discolored they look like they're nicotine saturated.

Can anyone offer a source for new switches or...a method of either changing out the faceplate or refurbishing the faces.

I wanted to explore the above ideas with "the experts" before hounding my salvage sources for nice looking swithces as the three-switch combo is getting a little pricey.

By the way, if someone were to know of a cherry set, I have a set of new, in-the-box switches for 94-96 that I would be willing to trade.

(Be advised, "cleaning" has had no affect on the appearance.)

    Thanks in advance...

Like most C4 parts, this is NOT a part that one wants to need. The control assembly was GM #14104668. However, it was discontinued without supercession in July, 1997. As far as I can tell, the "well is dry" on this one.

Contemporary Corvette (www.contemporarycorvette.com) has helped me with a number of small parts that could not be found or other places did not want to separate. I usually talk to Chris.

The problem with used for a piece like this is that "cosmetic deterioration" might be as bad in the used piece as the one needing replacement. If the control needing replacement was disfunctional, a functional used piece would be great. But, in this case, it sounds like it's just a "cosmetic" problem. But, you never know, Contemporary might have a pristine used piece. Stranger things have happened. It will have to come out of a 90-91, though.

Joe, I like the way you phrased your first reply - this is not a part that you want to be in need of.

And...you're correct in that it's "only" a cosmetic need but THAT makes it a biggie.

Jim, I think I will start calling my 'salvage' guys. Chris fixed me up VERY well a couple of years ago with center and aft body convertible wiring harnesses for an exfoliated connector.

By the way guys, Mike Rose at Art's Corvette Parts has always been very helpful to me, as well. (His dad was Art.)

          Thanks again for contributing ideas.
