I have heard that someone is reproducing a gas cap for 58-60s that passes judging can anyone help locate the source.

I recommend that you look for the Fuller Emerson cap shown in the TIM&JG. They appear from time to time on ebay and elsewhere and are nowhere near the cost of the early 58 cap.

Stewy - I have been too busy to hang out on the TDB much.

When I'm not at work I have been working on my garage. I am nearly done putting in a vaulted ceiling for a section of my garage to be able to have enough ceiling height to install a 4 post lift. Will then be able to stack my Vettes. I just have insulation and drywall to go. I used an architect to design the truss modifications and had a carpenter make the changes. I have been busy re-routing every electrical line and the main gas line as well as adding a split A/C and heater unit and adding lots of outlets and lighting.

Mark I have been the same as you of late !! I'm up to paint stage. I have finished the carpentry myself, hung the drywall myself and stopped it up, sparky has ruffed the wiring in and I have just spent 40 hours on one coat of paint on all the walls and ceilings another 2 coats to go. I have set Christmas as a goal to finish ? I will be glad when it's all over the job was getting to big for me to do myself and the high ceilings are very taxing on my body. Stewy

Mark, I bought one for my 60 in September for the Marlborough,MA regional. No problem with judging.

Dang, that cap looks like the one I just purchased on eBay for $50 more than it cost to buy it on that website. I should have known it looked too shiny!! It was advertised as original standt. The seller had it listed for $250 or best offer. What recourse do I have? The sellers name was Blake something. I'll look for his/her name when I get home and post it.
