Paul - that is what I was thinking. A lot on the non-Hertz 2008's have under 15,000 and some even lower.

        Re: Thinking about buying C-6

Andy, I have a 07 3LT Z51 coupe & absolutely love it. One other thing to keep in mind.......05 & 06 does not include the 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. 07 & up does.

This year it paid off for me. My 41k mile car needed a new harmonic balancer (wobbly), and a month ago needed 2 rear prop shaft housing bearings replaced. The balancer replacement was about 4 hrs labor, and the bearings 7.5 hrs. Both covered 100% under PT warranty at my Chevy dealer.

Go with an 08 on up. The 6 speed paddle shift and the 430hp engine are light years ahead of the 05-07. This car is awsome, I can't believe it! I think I am going to keep my 08 until I cannot get in and out of it anymore.Tom Stanton #41491

Thanks Tom. Do all non-ZO6 2008's have the removable roof ? Do these removable roofs rattle much ?

yes all std coupes have removable roofs and there has been some "poping" noises with the tops but GM has fixed that as my 08 is OK

There was a TSB for the popping sound, they replace the handles and a couple of other things. Apparently cures the issue, but I've never had the problem with either of the tops on my '07.

Left handle in my 08 popped, right one did not.
I had them replaced this past June with the new design handles and they are both now as quiet as can be.

And yes, I still have the original handles.

My left one popped also. I didn't want my local dealer to touch it so I experimented on my own. I found a little vaseline on the post will stop it for some time. Then I put some shrink tube with just a dab of white lube on the post. Shazam as Gomer would say,no more snap crakle and pop. Hope this helps. Other than this noise I have not had one minutes trouble with this car.Tom Stanton #41491

I've heard of a similar fix. However, GM warranty came through for me, and I used a dealer I trust.
