    1967 Seatbelt pic needed

Does anyone have a pic of the underside of the female part?

    Thanks,
    Tom M

    Hi Tom,

The pictures aren't the greatest, so I'll list what they say. The tag on the female/buckle half of the belts is the same as the one shown, except the ink stamp is worn away. The picture below is from the retractable/male half of the belt and says "Hamill 1967 Model # C10, with an ink stamp date of 50 E 66 (50th week of 1966, if I understand correctly).

My other female/buckle half has the same tag dated "50 E 66", and both of the retractable halves of the belts have tags dated "50 E 66", for a total of four belts with the "Hamill 1967 C10" markings, one without a date stamp, the other three with faded but still legible "50 E 66" ink stamps.

I don't know for sure if they are original to the car, but my Dad bought the car in 1976 and he kept a very good receipt file, even on under a dollar items like screws, washers, nuts, etc. If he bought something for the car, it went in the receipt file. I have receipts going back to February of 1974 from the previous owner, and there's nothing in the receipt history about replacing seat-belts, so unless I've missed something, I think these are the originals. The car's VIN and Trim Tag correspond to January 11, 1967 assembly date, so belts with tags showing the 50th week of 1966 should be right.

On the main body of the underside of the belt buckle it says:

    IMPORTANT
    1. WEAR BELT AT ALL TIMES.
    2. ADJUST BELT SNUGLY.
    3. EXTEND BELT COMPLETELY FROM
    ANY WIND-UP DEVICE.
    4. WIND-UP DEVICES ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THIS HALF OF BELT.

Below this, just above where the belt comes through, is the number 0337 and that same number (0337) is on both buckles.

On the other side of where the belt comes through, at the very bottom of the back side of the buckle, it says:
    HAMILL RCF-65

I included a picture of the front side with the blue Chevrolet bow-tie button, looks like it was hit by something, and messed up the logo a bit.

        Tom,

If you really want to get into the details of 67 seat belt buckles, take a look at this thread in the archives:

        https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...CF-65&uid=3940

This was a preview of an article eventually published in the Restorer but in a much shortened version.

            You're welcome!

I'm pretty new here, and my knowledge level is not great, but I'm learning as fast as I can. I'm getting a lot of help in restoring my Dad's '67 from people here and on the CF, so it's great to be able to contribute and to help someone else whenever I can.

I just got lucky because I saw your post in time to beat Jerry to it

Does anybody know where to get the belt buckle tops replated?

              Thank you,

THAT is definitely the Thread to read, along with your related article "Buckle Up - Anatomy 101: RCF-65 Seat Belt Buckles" in the Summer 2006 Corvette Restorer Magazine (Volume 33, Number 1, and thank you for writing the article!).

I just purchased the CD last month with all the back issues of Corvette Restorer Magazine, it's an incredible resource. I'm sure it would be helpful to anyone in a digital and searchable format, but it's especially helpful for someone who hasn't been receiving this magazine for the last 30+ years. I couldn't believe something like that was available when I found it in the NCRS bookstore. The sheer volume of information and experience around here is a little overwhelming at first, but I can't imagine trying to do this project without out it.

                  Hi Randy,

Charlie Santorelli (Seat Belt Sity) is highly recommended in the archives for all things seat-belt related, if you search his name it will bring up a lot of seat-belt Threads. People seem to give the impression that he's all business, but when I talked with Charlie he was very personable, so I must have caught him on a good day. He doesn't do email and he doesn't have a website, just phone: 908-719-2354

I have also seen SSnake-Oyl mentioned, and fellow NCRS member Clete Marquart was highly recommended by another NCRS forum member: 610-678-1239

                    Jerry,

My bad, I did remember the article, but I thought John had written it for Corvette Enthusiast, and couldn't find it. Did go back and re-read the online one.

I actually recieved 2 different sets of belts with the car, the wording on the back is different on the other set, THe RCF-65 is in a different place, and there is another stamping of "H6662" on them.

Thanks for the help guys, now if I just knew someone who could re-cad them

Just Kidding Jerry, cad is fine on them.
