    Battery Disconnect

I installed a new AC Delco Battery and a Battery Disconnect on my 1994 Corvette ZR1. Everything worked find the day of installation.

After two days the cars would not start and the battery was dead.

I installed the old battery and the car would not start. I removed the battery disconnect and the car started fine.

Any one have problems with the side post battery disconnects? If so, how did you fix the problem?

    Thank you,

Wayne the screw down disconnects have a reputation for causing all kinds of problems, especially on cars with computers. If you have room use one of the knife style switches on your negative cable

        Re: Battery Disconnect

Some people have reported poor experiences witht he green knob style of disconnect due to the small contact area in their design. If there is room in your installation for the lever type of disconnect, use that style. They seem to work better.

          Dick,

Thank you and I will order one of the knife style switches. I looked a one on line from WithCo and it looks like there will be room on install this type of battery disconnect.

          Have a great Christmas!
