Re: A-Arm Bushing Removal
Holy Crap guys.... You all are making my head hurt.
I've never experienced the trouble I'm reading about here,,especially with the bushing installation. Ever hear of wheel bearing grease? A little goes a long way to smooth this job out.

Re: A-Arm Bushing Removal
Wow! Lots of different opinions and methods. I am today removing the rubber and will try once again to get the sleeves to budge.
Mike I looked at NAPA web site but not sure which tools I need. Do you have time to get me part numbers or names of the tools? There are several listed and I am just not sure which I need.
And I agree that this is the worst (if not a closee 2nd to worst) job I have encountered on the rebuild. Differential carrier bushing removal and trailing arm bolts are right at the top also.
Gary...thanks for the link to Vtechcorvette. If I can not get them out this time, I am going to give them a call.
Regards to all for the help. David- Top

Re: A-Arm Bushing Removal
Hi Dave,
I used a 1/4" bit and ran it in between the inner and outter portions of the bushing. This way all I had to deal with was the pressed portion of the bushing.
I then was ablbe to cave in the bushing with a hammer and chisel and it fell out.
Hope this helps,
