Re: Newby
Steve,
I have two Vettes, a 95 white vert that will be up in Kissimmee, and a 69 maroon coupe that is in storage up in Ohio. Both are in great condition. The avatar is obviously for the 95, but I was driving Miss Ohio in the OSU homecoming parade this fall (I am a stat professor at OSU). Thanks for the interest.
Terry,
This is my first time at NCRS. I am in the process of going through the 247 pages of the 94-96 Vette guide and doing what I can to minimize deductions. Any general suggestions or things to expect? For instance, I replaced the Delco battery a few years ago and was wondering if it was worth the points to put a new Delco in. Thanks and take care.- Top

Re: Newby
In addition to the TIM&JG you might also consider taking a look at the Judging Reference Manual. It has the "rules of the game."
There are 10 extra points available for having a fire extinguisher, NCRS decal on the car (you can get one from the membership office), and a battery cut-off switch.
You should also have an AC Delco air filter, battery, and oil filter. You will lose ALL available points for non-AC Delco items in those positions, but even the currently available Delco parts from your FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) will get you some points -- generally they will get enough originality points (at least 10%) to allow the judges to score the condition points.
You will find this is not a car cleaning contest. the standard for cleanliness is as good as new car preparation. Of course everyone has a slightly different idea of what that means, but you will not find any white gloves among the judges, nor will they look for stones in your tire treads.
Nice to see you toil in higher education. My family is a great supporter of that field -- that means I have paid a lot to institutions of higher learning.Terry- Top

Re: Newby
Richard,
Welcome to the club! I'll also be at Kissimmee, although I won't won't have a car judged, but will be judging. I'll try to find you there, as I've got a 1990 ZR-1. You'll find the C4 judges are great people and will give you a lot of help in getting your car ready for the next stage
