Here's a '65, and the TRW L2166 replacement; don't know offhand if the '63 was any different.

Yes, the 1963 SHP 327 piston was virtually the same configuration-wise as later 327 SHP pistons. 1963 used GM #3799501. 1964-65 used GM #3850137. 1966-67 used GM #3871208. The 3850137 superceded the 3799501 for SERVICE and the 3871208 superceded the 3850137 for SERVICE. So, by 1967, the 3871208 was the SERVICE piston for all 62-67 Corvette with SHP 327.
