'Had a great conversation with him and Sam years ago. He asked me how I liked my "newer" (57) Corvette and chuckled. 'A neat guy.

M.L. Young was still a member of NCRS at 94.

The only picture I could find of him in the first 10 issues of the Restorer were in his '55. You couldn't see his face. Maybe Vinnie has some pictures in his archives.

I met him many years ago , he drove his Corvette all around the country to meets and convinced me to always drive any Corvette I had , which I did and still do . Nice to know God took his time taking him home. He'll be missed

As a new member and owner of one of the highest numbers (50543) , I will give a shout out and a salute to one of the oldest with one of the lowest numbers (16). Never met the man of course, but I salute him for his longevity and his love of corvettes. I suspect he was also a veteran, and was certainly a member of "the greatest generation" in any case, and for that Mr. Young and his family also gets best wishes from me.

This is/was a gentleman who went way, way, beyond "classy". Being a member of Brokaw's "Greatest Generation", his calmness, etc., during judging might somehow be a comment on what he had already seen.
I asked him once while he was in his lawn chair during judging about how he remained so even tempered; "I have an advantage in that I was old enough to think about buying one of these cars from the very first. I'll just wait for the results/comments and then send him a picture of how it really was in ____."
