1970 wiper arm removal

Happy New Year to all!
Obviously C3's are a tad tricky vs C2's when it comes to removal of wiper arms. I have the tool and have used on C2's for removal of arm but am mystified as to how to remove them on my 70 coupe. I have removed the cowl vent and before I remove the rest of the car from the wipers, I thought I would seek advice, thanks in advance, Mitch

I would suggest removing the wiper door and the grill assemblies,
this will give you plenty of room for working. Remove any washer fluid hoses from the tubes on the arm.
Just be carefull, the solder points are sometimes weak and you may break the tube off the arm.


As for popping the arm off the transmission....
there is a spring loaded clip that needs to be pulled away from the transmission while lifting the arm up.
It is spring loaded and will require some carefull rocking side to side while lifting on the arm - to remove.

I can not write in words how to do this .. it is something that once you have done it - simple to do again - but to explain, real PITA..
