Terry I do not have the carb any more but I remember 4801-A. The replacement and the original carb both had these blocks in the bowls. Paul 18046

Interesting stuff. Were the pieces installed in such a manner that they reduced the surface area of the fuel in the bowls? Otherwise, how would they serve to cut back on evaporative emissions within the bowls? Probably more to it than my gray matter can process . I reckon if the fuel in the bowls completly evaporated, there would have been less fuel to evaporate resulting in less evap emissions. Thanks.

they fit into the cavities of the metering bodies so i would guess that they would cut down on the amount of area that heated up the fuel when you shut off the engine as they would act as a insulator.
