    1967 Glove Box Contents

I was going over my 67 TIM & JG in the Glove Box Contents section and noticed for the first time this part of the first sentence: "a small manila envelope that contains the license attachment screws". I don't think I have ever seen one or heard it discussed before. Would anyone have a picture of one?

    Thanks,
    Rick

Rick, I never read a 67 JM but I am impressed that it does have that info on the small manila envelope. I do know that if you look in the 63 aims it lists the envelop as being part of the glove box stuff.
But I only ever saw one and that was a pic.
You would think someone would repro these bags.

      Rick,
This one is from a shark (1971) but I believe they were the same back to 1965. They are scarce. This one still has the screws inside.

        John,
1963 and 1964 used a different Bag/Envelope. It was part number 3690446. Not sure of the wording on it but the 64 AIM says it was installed in the Glove Compartment in St. Louis and was used as Licence Plate attaching container.

I don't remember an envelope for keys for 63.

Funny how some of these posts go sideways sometimes. There was not a key envelope in any 63/64 Corvette unless it was dealer installed.

The license plate attaching screws (and the envelope they came in) disappeared during "normal dealer preparation" when the tech installed the plates; shouldn't be a judged item.

Sometimes, rich kids didn't have a trade in because a new Corvette was their first car (that daddy bought) so they wouldn't have had any license plates to transfer/install.

                  Kim,
I checked LI Corvette printed and online catalog and was unable to locate a photo of this envelope.

John states it shouldn't be a judged item but does anyone know if if has been a judged item. If it is not a judged item, why is it in the TIM & JG?

                    Rick -

I've recommended to the NTL that that item be deleted for the next (5th) edition of the '67 JG.

                      John,
Thanks for your reply. This item was not in my glovebox when I bought my car and to be honest, I never heard of it before. This will save me from a search.
                      Regards,
                      Rick

As usual, my friend John is correct but, if one were to have a car entered for Gold Certification at Bloomington, they judge based on how the car was configured when it came out the back door at the assembly plant.

What about the states that only used one licence plate and there were 2 screws and an envelope left.????
With thoughts like this I can't wait until spring.

NOT for keys Michael. For the license plate hardware. I didn't say anything about keys-did I???
63 Aima. Sect 14. Sheet A8.00 Misc shipping list.
Shipping reference 12. which is "Place in instrument panel compartment.
Now see bag- Reference 6. 6= bag used as license plate attaching parts container.

Dave mentioned the parts number of this bag. I can't see Dave's post and type this one. Looks like the number ends in 446? Number for the paper bag which ia one bag divided in the sender and has a part number stamped on it.
Meanwhile I can remember my new 65 Corvette having this bag. I had this bag around for an eon but now it's lost.

                              John,
I don't have a 63 AIM but the 64 AIM lists a Bag 5690446 and says it "was used as a licence plate attaching parts container." I don't know what it looks like as I've never seen one.
