    Blade type battery disconnect question

Has anyone had difficulty attaching one of these to the negative terminal on a '67 (no AC. battery mounted on pass. side)? We bought one of these though Amazon and it is made by Wirthco. As it is designed it will not fit over the positive battery terminal. It fits properly over the negative terminal (as it should) but the clearance b/w the heater box and the terminal for the battery cable is not allowing it to work.
Is it possible that my only option is the green knob type and these just dont fit? Anyone else have this issue?

    Thanks for the help!

I have the blade type you bought on my 70; it is perfect for a side post battery in a box like the C3. The green knob type is good for a top post battery. Amazon is ware I bought mine. Return yours and buy the green knob type.

      Charles,
I do not know the battery orientation for a '67, but for my '64 with the battery on the pax side and the negative post to the outboard side, the blade type switch works fine. I gave up on the green knob switches.
      Best regards,

I did mine kind of like johns picture, except I took it apart and put the blade pivot on the side that mounts to the post. That way the entire assembly sits on top of the battery. I can post a picture if you need. Kurt

Do you have an OEM battery? Would you mind poting a pic?

            Thanks,

              Charles,
Is your battery installed with the negative post to the outboard side?
              Best regards,

Yes the neg terminal is toward the pass fender. It is an OEM repop Energizer battery.

                Thanks,

Similar to John's, but with blade positioned aft.

Thank for all of the pic guys. It looks like the one I ordered from Amazon is twice the size of the ones pictured in this thread. John, Jeff, and Kurt did you buy those disconnects from LGB Industries listed in the driveline?

                      Thanks again!

I got mine from Paragon - it's the same one Kurt has, except it hasn't been reversed.

The knife switches shown are maufactured by WirthCo and sold through a 'jillion' distribution channels. Last time I checked even JC Whitney cataloged them...
