1966 DX Racecar on Display

On display Fri 22 January only at NCRS Winter Regional, first of 12 1966 Competition only Corvettes built in 1966 s/n 16714. It is in un-restored original condition sans drive train and is still on the MSO. It has not been seen in public for 30 years. It was used to prototype many items that were later included in the 1967 L-88 packages. Here it is in action.

Saw Dick Guldstand driving a prototype 66 at the Daytona 24 hour in 1966, he had flashlights temporarily taped on due to some damage to the front. Very cold at night then, he was a real hotshoe! Wonder if that was the one?

Don't think so as the car has had minimal damage to it over the years.

That was the Penske car. The front end was torn off. 'Just followed the Ferrari's tail lights he said.
