    66 BB Fuel Line

Hi, I purchased a pump to carb line for my 66, 390 hp 427 and it is not even close . Has anyone had the same problem? I bought it from Corvette Central .The carb and the pump are correct .

Where is the fitment problem; at the pump or at the carb?

If the problem is at the pump, is the pump a type 40366 and does it use a brass elbow between the fuel line and the pump?

if you have a 67 big block pump like Joe suggests, then you'll have to use a 67 BBC pump to carb fuel line. or you could buy the repo 66 BBC fuel pump from Paragon. its closely configured to an original 66 BBC pump but not perfect. mike

Long Island sells a replacement pump kit for '66 BB with an adapter fitting, not sure if they sell the fitting seperate, might be worth the call if that is your fitment issue.

I have a 66 BB and do not like the fit of my fuel line, from Corvette Central as well. I have a brass fitting on my fuel pump. It went on, but it was a bear.

Is there supposed to be a brass fitting? I would like to see what the fuel pump should look like if anyone can post a picture.

          Thanks.

There is supposed to be a brass elbow for '66, the issue now is that the original '66 BB pumps had a pipe thread on the outlet, and the generic replacement pumps that are available all are theaded for a flare nut type connection (like '67 BB had originally). I believe you can use a '67 L88 carb to pump line (if you are working on a L72) with the replacement pumps to make it work, or come up with an adapter fitting and use the '66 line and elbow.

Good day all. This connection should be close if not correct for the '66 427.

I have the brass fitting at the pump Joe, The line dosen't line up at the carb ( the angle is off a little and I think it is a little long here ) and it is about 1" too long at the pump end . I just got the pump with the brass fitting from Long Island Corvette .
